Melanie is passionate about finding creative ways to support her clients in overcoming life's difficulties. She combines talk therapy, mindfulness, and playful therapy to provide a comfortable and engaging healing environment for children, teenagers, and young adults.
With a diverse educational foundation, Melanie expertly customizes therapy sessions to suit the unique requirements of each client. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts and a Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Additionally, Melanie is a certified yoga instructor and is pursuing a certificate in Play Therapy.
Melanie believes in establishing a genuine and welcoming space where clients can feel safe sharing their stories. She collaborates with her clients throughout their personal journeys, adjusting her approach to empower them and foster a positive self-image and a hopeful outlook.
Melanie has extensive experience working with children with various abilities, such as intellectual, emotional, and behavioral challenges. She incorporates yoga, mindfulness techniques, play therapy, and expressive therapies to help her young clients build confidence and contentment. Melanie's integration of play, yoga, and therapy not only makes therapy more enjoyable for children and teenagers but also facilitates a deeper connection within themselves, promoting healing, growth, and resilience.
In her work with young adults, Melanie helps clients gain insight into their emotional lives and process experiences that hinder their personal growth. As a certified yoga instructor, Melanie is also very aware that our emotions aren’t only “in our head,” but they live in our body as well. Her training in yoga and mindfulness provides her with additional tools address emotional overwhelm, as in anxiety and trauma - and how these emotions affect our mind and body.
Melanie's warm personality and compassionate approach make clients of all ages feel comfortable opening up, creating a safe space that fosters a healthier sense of self.
