Alex’s pronouns are She/Her

Alex is deeply committed to help adults heal from broken relationships and emotional hurt - so they can find hope and a new sense of joy.

Alex holds a Masters in Counseling Psychology from the California Institute of Integral Studies in San Francisco with a focus in Drama Therapy. She has over 10 years of experience helping adults, youth and families heal from trauma, addiction, and disrupting life changes.

She engages clients in ways that are meaningful to each person including talk therapy, creative arts, or coaching. She also uses mind-body approaches that include mindfulness and meditation techniques to support each in their healing journey. Her creative use of drama therapy techniques allows clients to process difficulties they often can’t put into words, always respecting each person’s comfort level.

She enjoys working with youth to strengthen healthy interpersonal social skills and learn effective stress management strategies when children and teens experience feelings of worry, anxiety, sadness and anger. Alex works individually with kids and teens but also collaborates with parents to strategize, learn and strengthen parenting skills.  She enjoys helping families foster healthy interpersonal relationships focused on mutual understanding and support.

Alex has presented on her work with preschool-aged children as well as youth struggling with severe depression and eating disorders at drama therapy conferences in New York City, San Francisco, and Portland. She was the recipient of the Rachel Banks Endowment Fund at the Weinstein JCC Preschool for two years in a row to design and implement a drama therapy program in all 16 classrooms, focusing on healthy interpersonal social skills as well as leading parent forums on child development and play.

Alex also partners with local agencies and arts organizations to create and implement creative arts therapy-based programming for youth including the Visual Arts Center of Richmond, SPARC, United Methodist Family Services (UMFS) and the New YCAPP, Inc.
