Lindsay Tuck, Therapist in Richmond VA

Lindsay’s pronouns are: She/Her

Lindsay helps kids, teens and adults manage overwhelming stress so they can feel happier and more fulfilled.

Lindsay has always been passionate about serving others. Her career in mental health started over a decade ago after receiving a Bacherlor’s in Psychology from Longwood University and later her Masters in Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University.

Lindsay believes strongly in serving the needs of her clients by creating a strong alliance where they feel safe and secure enough to be vulnerable while also feeling empowered to advocate for themselves and reach their personal goals.

In her work with adults, Lindsay recognizes that each person comes with their own unique experiences and needs. Struggling with overwhelming feelings or overcoming life’s challenges can often feel like an isolating experience. Lindsay approaches therapy from a place of collaboration and partnership without judgement. She will help you navigate your personal journey toward hope and healing by tailoring her approach to meet your needs. Whether you are looking to find solutions or strategies for a specific struggle or you’re searching for an open space to explore your feelings and gain insight into yourself, Lindsay is committed to serving your individual needs.

When working with children, Lindsay tailors her approach to best match your child’s age and stage of development. As verbal skills are continually developing throughout childhood, younger children tend to communicate more through their behavior than they do with their words and they use play to make sense of their experiences and practice new skills. Depending on your child’s level of development, Lindsay will use different play therapy approaches to provide them with accessible ways of communicating their feelings and needs, increasing self-awareness and insight, as well as learning and practicing new skills. Lindsay offers a variety of materials including toys, games, art supplies, dress-up items, sand-tray, and sensory materials to provide children, youth, and teens with opportunities to engage in ways that meet their unique interests and needs.

In addition, Lindsay understands that caregivers are essential in helping translate the insights and skills learned in the child’s treatment across settings like at home, school, or extracurricular activities. When working with your child, Lindsay works closely with you as their caregiver to explore challenges and strategize changes in routine or environment that further your child’s progress outside of the counseling office.

With Lindsay, you or your family can expect a compassionate and collaborative partnership that fosters personal growth and resilience, regardless of your background, gender identity, or sexual orientation. As a member of the LGBTQ+ community, her commitment to inclusivity ensures that individuals from all walks of life receive the support they deserve.
