About Ashton Williams LPCAshton uses Play Therapy and Art to connect with kids, teens and young adults who struggle with challenging behaviors, intense emotions, and difficult circumstances.

A Richmond native, Ashton was raised in West Point, VA. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor with a BS in Psychology from Virginia Commonwealth University and an MEd in Community Agency Counseling at George Mason University. Her educational and professional experience is centered on helping with children and young adults overcome academic struggles, behavioral concerns, uncomfortable feelings, disconnection with others, poor self-esteem, unsatisfying careers, and grief.

Ashton cares that others feel heard and they feel able to master their life. Her warm personality makes the counseling process easier and allows clients to grapple with crises, difficult relationships, communication problems, focusing concerns, family discord, dissatisfaction in work, and problems in school or college. She has over 7 years of experience supporting a wide range of individuals serving in safe houses, community environments, schools, and private practice.

Ashton is currently working toward becoming a Registered Play Therapist. In counseling, she will incorporate creativity, games, art, literature, and other combinations of expressive play therapy techniques to help individuals manage troubling feelings, thoughts, and behaviors. This process allows her clients to feel stronger, happier, and more confident and free.
